Home to be with the Lord

My grandfather, John Joaquin Maciel went home to be with the Lord this morning. With Chris' encouragement (Thank you so much, Dearheart), I was able to have a sweet, sweet visit with him and the rest of my family this past weekend. It's hard to explain, but in many ways it is an honor and a privilege to be with those who are dying. Not only to say goodbye and show support, but to also be just a little closer to Heaven in those moments.

Papa will be buried one month shy of his ninetieth birthday; 26 years after his youngest son was buried, and 18 1/2 years after his precious wife was buried.

I like to think that there is quite a joyous reunion going on in Heaven right now.

oh, joanie, i'm so sorry for your loss. i'm thinking and praying for you and your dear family. even though we have hope in christ, it still hurts to loose someone we love. i pray you will be given great Comfort in your sorrow, friend.
